Long Reef take two!! ✌🏼🌌 β €β € Last week was a perfect week for astro with clear skies and no moon. Exactly a year ago I took a shot of the Milky Way at Long Reef and wanted to go back there to better the shot. After looking back at my 2018 version I’m much happier with this one! πŸ₯³ β €β € This shot is made up of 2 photos to minimise the noise in the foreground (camera didn’t move between frames). Last Thursday’s banger sky! πŸ”₯ β €β € We were treated to something special down at Cronulla Rock Pools last week, the sky seriously out on a show. β €β € It was hard to pick the right composition when the sky was like that, so instead of going with a lot of flow I went with a more simple water movement for the foreground, with just a bit of foam trailing out of the little rock pools in front of me. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” @sonyaustralia A7Riii @nisifiltersaustralia 3 stop Medium GND + CPL @siruiaustralia W-2204 β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” πŸ’₯ Only 4 spots left (Edit: SOLD OUT) in our Sunrise Seascape Workshop!! We’re hosting a Sydney Sunrise WORKSHOP!! πŸ₯³ β €β € Come and join myself and @steph_vella for our first ever group seascape workshop on Sunday 2nd June at the Cronulla Rock Pools! β €β € We’ll have the full range of @nisifiltersaustralia on hand for all to test out and try on the day. We’ll be teaching you how to get the most out of your camera, and helping you capture dynamic images! β €β € We would love to see you there. Link in our bios for more info and to book! πŸ˜ƒπŸ“· β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Took this shot last week down at Cronulla Rock Pools where we were greeted with an extraordinary sunrise! For this shot I opted to briefly turn my camera away from the burning sky to focus on this composition where I liked the movement of the water with the flash of orange sky above. πŸ”₯ I’ll be sharing my image of the burning sky in a few days so stay tuned! β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” @sonyaustralia A7Riii + FE 16-35mm f2.8 GM @nisifiltersaustralia 3 stop Medium GND + Polariser @siruiaustralia W-2204 + K-30x Ballhead β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” 2 months ago

After rain this place comes alive! πŸ’¦πŸ›€ β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” So I have a question.. Who’s a fan of focus stacking their images? Will you always do it when it’s necessary, or do you want to get it all in one shot to save you the trouble in photoshop? I chose to spend the time and focus stacked this image, so that I could get the close foreground plants in focus and still have the tunnel in focus too! πŸ‘€ β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” @sonyaustralia A7Riii @nisifiltersaustralia Landscape CPL (hugely helped with this shot) @siruiaustralia W-2204 β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” 3 months ago
Milky Way and City Lights πŸŒŒπŸŒƒπŸŒ‰ β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Capturing the actual Milky Way core over the Sydney Harbour Bridge was exciting! As you may have guessed this isn’t a single exposure, BUT this shot was captured using multiple images taken over the space of about half an hour. Showing it’s possible to get this much detail in the core in the middle of the city! You can see the glow from the building lights to the right, but it still wasn’t enough to blow out the sky. πŸ˜ƒ Had the great company of @steph_vella for this shoot, so make sure to head over to her page to check out her amazing shot! πŸ₯³ β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” @sonyaustralia A7Riii @nisifiltersaustralia New V6 holder + Natural Night Filter @siruiaustralia W-2204 Tripod β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” 3 months ago
Last night’s sunset was a complete dud.. BUT sometimes it pays to get to a spot well before the sun actually sets.
